Sarah's Top Tips for a Joyful January!
After all the excitement of the Christmas period, it’s no wonder many of us feel deflated in January. At SH, we’re all about spreading joy, so we have 5 great tips for staying positive in the more dreary months of the year. Get your Vitamin D.
It’s no secret the lack of sunshine in the winter months can contribute to low moods and sadness. Get outside as much as you can, even a brief lunchtime walk can help you absorb all of that goodness from the winter sun. On days that getting out during those few daylight hours is impossible, why not take a supplement or keep some Vitamin rich oranges in your fruit bowl.
Style yourself Joyful.
We all feel better about ourselves when we know we look good. In dark and dreary weather, why not add some brighter hues to your wardrobe? Bright colours are scientifically proven to promote happiness and optimism, and the best part is, your joy is infectious! Wearing bright colours won’t just leave yourself feeling more joyful, everyone you meet will feel that little bit better too.
Treat yourself.
There’s nothing like a little retail therapy to cheer you up. Whether you choose to splurge on a new handbag, or treat yourself to a facial, spending some money on something especially for you is a great way to get that burst of serotonin we all need from time to time.
Get your Groove on.
Listening to some upbeat music is a mood booster like no other. While mellow tunes have their time and place, this month we’re listing to 80’s hits, turning our living room’s into dancefloors and grooving to the beat. Dancing is a great way to keep moving and getting that all important exercise.
Give your handbags a styling session.
When you’re feeling down, staying busy can be a welcome distraction. We know how much joy our handbags bring their lovely owners, so why not spend some time playing dress up with your handbags?
